The Department of Geography under the Faculty of Science is offering undergraduate degree in Geography. The first session began in 2015-16. This has been a long standing vision of the Faculty of Science which has ultimately become fruitful. The Department has a vision to make it one of the best Departments in West Bengal for which several plans and programmes are being chalked out like preparations of the most updated syllabus in Geography under the Science Faculty and students will be offered science subsidiary subjects allied to Geography. The Department also plans to develop a state of art Remote Sensing and GIS laboratory for the students so that they can have access to the most updated knowledge of this branch of Geography which is emerging as a potential area of recruitment. The future plans also include postgraduate degree in Geography and a diploma course in Remote Sensing and GIS. The department is hosted in the third floor of the Megnad Saha Building (Integrated Science building). The Department also offers PhD programme in Geography which commenced from 2014-15.
